February 2021 Prayer Update

Micah 4:5 - "Though all the peoples walk each in the name of his god, as for us, we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever."

 Dear Praying Friends,

Welcome 2021! We hope this update finds you all well in body and soul and looking to Jesus for your hope and strength in this new year. Thank you for your prayers for our family. God has already been at work in wonderful ways this year:

Spending quality time with Papa at Christmas.

New Year's Eve games at Adrian & Christina's!

The weather and roads were beautiful during all of our driving this Christmas / New Year and Nathaniel did wonderful in the car! We estimate he only cried for a total of about an hour out of the 30+ hours we were in the car during our week of visiting relatives. Thank you for your prayers! We were hosted so generously everywhere we went and have come home with more family memories to treasure.

Enjoying our sunny, Illinois winter!

Nathaniel will be two years old next month! We cannot believe he is no longer a baby, but he shows us each and every day how big he is. He is using multiple words in a row to communicate now and loves to help with chores around the house. We anticipate him being a big help when his Baby brother / sister arrives. He also loves learning and has been naming his colors and letters lately.

This was 28 weeks pregnant. Now we are 34!

Date night at Outback Steak House.

Countdown to baby's due date is 6 weeks now! We are thankful that the pregnancy is continuing healthily and that the end is in sight. Megan is looking very forward to the Baby Shower that her cousin Jennifer has offered to throw her in March and to her Mom, Dad and sister Shannon coming to visit in April after the Baby is born. Megan continues to babysit twice a week now. Over Christmas vacation she prayed about getting a part-time job to do from home and God answered this prayer by giving her another day of babysitting during the week! Nathaniel loves Noah and Garret ("Gee-it") and is learning to share and play nicely with these friends. Megan is also volunteering to help clean the home of one of our church members, about once a week, and has been establishing a routine with Nathaniel on week-day mornings that allows her to spend one hour each day focusing on a personal goal. She and Nathaniel passed out cupcakes to our neighbors for Valentine's Day, hoping to keep carving inroads for sharing the light of Christ and being good neighbors.

The bedroom under progress a few weeks back.

Big Little Helper.

Benjamin was hired on directly this February for the company he has been working for in Champaign as a subcontractor. This provides a little more job security and benefits, including the training and certifications Benjamin can now receive. We hope that he will be able to get licensed this year in HVAC and electrical work. Benjamin is not taking any classes through Veritas Baptist College this semester, though he is studying the Bible with Dallas Theological Seminary's free online courses, as well as attending/ helping a men's apologetics class at our church on Tuesday nights. We have also begun attending the weekly prayer meeting at church and are currently taking the Membership Class with the intention of becoming members at Upper Room Bible Church.

These activities keep Benjamin very busy, but he continues to work on renovating our house. We have just about completed our first room now. This room will be Nathaniel's new room and now has updated insulation, electricity, drywall, paint, doors, light fixtures, and windows. We are already noticing the difference in how that room is heating, thanks to the insulation and windows; and, the updated outlets and wires make us feel much safer, too. We are hoping to get the room Nathaniel is currently in mostly renovated before the Baby arrives.

Whaaaat??!

Regarding the two big prayer requests we mentioned at the close of our last letter: 1) Benjamin's brother Gregory has decided not to move out here with us or come for an extended visit at this time, but to pursue a full-time job in Maine for the present. He has still offered to travel out here to help with a building project in the future, which we will most likely take him up on! 2) We have decided not to accept the full-time position that was being offered us at Camp Shoshanah. This decision makes us a little sad, but we do not believe that God is leading our family in that direction at this time. We will not be working at the Camp this summer either.

Please continue to pray for us:

1) For remaining healthy weeks of pregnancy, a healthy delivery and smooth time for Nathaniel while we are in the hospital.

2) For wisdom as we continue to fix up our house. That renovations would go smoothly around the time of our Baby's delivery and that unexpected problems that keep popping up (like pumping out our sewer) would all be able to be taken care of.

3) For willingness and wisdom to continue serving wherever God would have us to at this time.

4) For wisdom in how to best continue reaching our neighbors, and others that God has brought to our attention, for Christ.

"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord." ~ 2 Peter 1:2

Blessings,

The McEndarfers ~ Benjamin, Megan & Nathaniel
