Thank you all for praying! In my last update we asked for prayer concerning whether or not the Lord wanted us to move to Chicago this fall to attend Moody Bible Institute, considering that they did not have campus housing available for us. That discovery led us to prayerfully consider our motives for going to Moody, the feasibility of the move as well as what we hoped to accomplish by going, and the alternatives available to us this year. Though Moody seemed a good decision to us at this time because it would provide us with Bible and ministry training and also hopefully put us in touch with more mission groups we could potentially join, Benjamin and I do not, at this time, feel the Lord leading us there.

"The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent." Exodus 14:14 |
We have wrestled with this determination, especially considering that our prayer was "if you want us to go, Lord, let us get accepted." Yes, we did get accepted to Moody, but Benjamin especially, as he is the one carrying the burden of this decision and doing all the paper-work to become a student, has not felt the peace and leading of God at any point in this process. There has been a lot of confusion and pushing for deadlines. We know that the way God leads is not always smooth, and we were prepared to go in faith without a clear vision of how God would provide financially and were He would eventually lead us, but after prayer and fasting and consideration and counsel, it seems that the Lord is not leading us to move from Maine at this time.
Staying is a far less glamorous option than packing up for Chicago, but we do not wish it to be any less fruitful than a year at Bible school ~ nor do we expect it to be! We believe that the ground is very fertile for us here still to grow in ministry as a couple. We are connected to a church body who live as a "family of servant missionaries." Within this body are multiple opportunities for service, as well as mature believers willing to disciple us. We will let you know more of our concrete plans for how to "make the most of our time" here this year when we have finished discussing and praying, but wanted to make this announcement public so your prayers on our behalf would be answered.
Thank you so much for your support. We find that life is not always easy. Making decisions as a family is still new to us and the Lord does not always write His instructions on the wall. Nevertheless, we are confident that "He who began a good work in (us) will be faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6), and we are committed to serving Him wholeheartedly.
We had also asked for prayer for Annette's arm in the last update. Pleased to say it is healing nicely.
Blessings to you and yours!
From,
The McEndarfers
