Hello, Dear Friends and Christ-Followers!
This is the send-off of my new blog - MegNeedsPrayer!
(Who doesn't?)
By way of a quick update, I will be returning home in approximately 3 weeks from my 9 months spent as a student at Baptist Bible Translators Institute, Bowie, TX - school of "Advanced Missionary Training." It has been a valuable year, and I have learned much about linguistics, mission strategy, and personal lessons for spiritual growth. ~ Even more emphatically, after visiting the Wycliffe Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics, I recommend that all who plan to serve on the foreign field first take time to study at BBTI.
Serving the Lord in foreign missions has been the dream and desire of my heart for many years, and I originally thought I would have a team and field picked out by the end of this school-year. Unsurprisingly, that was not God's plan. I see that there are several things I should be working on this year at home before rushing off to a foreign field.
However, a recruiter from Pioneer Bible Translators challenged me that, just because I am not a full-blown, over-seas missionary yet, does not mean I should not have a prayer team!
I agree.
I will (hopefully) be updating this blog cite regularly with requests for prayer and reports of God's working in my life. I would be honored if you would consider joining with me in prayer for my future ministry and present walk with the Lord. These updates will surely be halting at first, but I believe that prayer is the most important support we can have in this life, so will be working to improve my communication and prayer network.
Thank you for the part that you already play in my life! Many of you are my close family and friends whom I talk with and receive counsel and encouragement from often. Others of you encourage me simply by being God's hands and feet in other parts of our country. Thank you for your Christian example and charity!
May God bless you this week! My first "prayer update" will follow soon.
Thanks for reading! Remember to subscribe if you would like to pray for me in the future! :)
